The Botín Foundation library specialises in 19th-century to contemporary art, and music. The online catalogue currently has 28.000 documents, including monographs, magazines, scores, DVDs and sound recordings. Opened to the public in 1994, it is based on the personal library of Federico Sopeña (1917-1991), Director of Madrid´s Conservatory of Music from 1951 to 1956 and Director of the Prado Museum from 1981 to 1982.
Each year there are publications on all the Foundation´s areas of activity: Art, Rural Development, Science, Music and the Trend Observatory, making up a major collection of documents and research material.
